MVPA 2009 Transcontinental Motor Convoy

A recreation of the famous 1919 Convoy will pass through on the Lincoln Highway (Hwy 30) and stop in Denison.  This is a convoy of historic military vehicles - of all eras, from WWI through to current-issue military vehicles.  The vehicle roster includes WWI "FWD" cargo trucks to Harley Davidson WLA motorcyles, staff cars and jeeps to later model M813 5 ton cargo trucks.

This convoy will stop in Denison for lunch 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. with all of their vehicles on display on the block of Broadway in front of the Crawford County Courthouse.

Dwight Eisenhower, 29 year old lieutenant colonel participated in the first transcontinental convoy in 1919.
